Am I Cookie Monster?

The New York Times interviewed Elmo about Money. Adorable!

Cookie monster is always on the hunt for a cookie- duh. He thinks he NEEDS it, but he just WANTS it.

If there is a blurred line between need and want on a potential purchase, I ask myself the cookie monster question. It has successfully deflected quite a few WANT purchases.

What Do I Want From My Investments?

What do I want?

What’s my time frame?

How much commitment?

Am I ready to give it all up?

Questions I had to answer while picking stocks. My beloved $$ was up for grabs.

A couple of weekends were jam packed with business sections of newspapers and magazines, years of annual reports, financial blogs, and chats with my financial advisor.

Picking the right stocks for my financial situation, time frame and risk tolerance turned into a production.

I’ll re-answer the above questions every few months to make sure my portfolio still serves my needs. But remember, I value invest. Hiccups don’t faze me and my loyalty.
